"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

All I can really say is don't rush it. Take the time to do your perspective line and draw with proper perspective. Pay special attention to story telling because you are applying to get sequential work not pinup work. Your Style does not have to look like the Topcow house style to get picked up just do your best.
